Sadly, Dennis Lee Havlin passed away on July 31, 2023. He was a husband, father, and grandfather, and so much more.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 18, 1941, DL was raised there and Fort Myers. First settling in Lakeland, he developed a love of the outdoors, and bird hunted. After moving to Bokeelia FL, he was a boat captain and phenomenal fisherman. Mentoring people was always a priority in his life, and led him to coach football and softball. DL loved to encourage new authors and share his craft with everyone he met. He was a Royal Palm award winning author and we will all miss his tag line “Open Minds, Open Books”.
